I was just sitting alone in the shadows. I'd heard about the reapings many times before, but I've never actually see one. Suddenly, everyone starts running around town, searching for something. I decide to go see what's going on. Next thing I know they tell me I've been picked and I get sent off on a train unwillingly.

(first, you need an age. second, no glowing body parts, third, no appearing out of the shadows, fourth, the crest can't do anything, fifth, if you aren't a citizen you can't be in the reaping ball.)

(Well, I'd better do my reapings.)

The bell rings inside the factory, and I drag myself out, ready to pass out on my feet. I walk a few blocks to an alley, and lie down in my usual spot behind the dumpster. I yawn, and am asleep before my head hits the trashbag pillow.

I am awakened by the sounds of people. I glance out of the alley and am greeted by the sight of people in fancy outfits headed towards the town square of District 3.
Today's reaping day? Great. I miss sleep.
Since I doubt that I'll be selected anyways, I go back to bed.

"Get up!" a harsh voice shouts.
I slowly pull myself upwards, and rub my eyes. In front of me are two Peacekeepers holding guns.
"What did I do?" I ask sleepily.
"You were reaped. Now get up before you miss the train," the other one barked.
I am escorted to the Justice Building by them. When nobody shows up to say goodbye, I am taken onto the train. I find my room and fall asleep, hoping that a nocturnal schedule will help in the arena.

After watching the reaping for District 5, my insanity kicks in. I throw a cup at a window in the train and try to jump out. A force field keeps me in and a guard gets a hold of me and brings me to my room.

You better watch your actions buddy. If you don't want to be publicly humiliated in front of the entire country and die a slow and painful death, just act normal. And please, don't mention this note to anybody.

*gets bored* I get up and walk around some more. I get a snack then it's back to my room. I find a small notebook and copy down my mental notes onto paper. Always have a backup, right?

(1. Can't it just be unknown? 2. Ok fine... 3. That was sarcasm, it was seemingly out of nowhere, nobody saw me come. 4. Why not? What can I chose from then? 5. When did I say I wasn't a citizen? I just don't participate in many social events.)

(1. fine. 4. because it might be useful in the arena. you can still use it if it doesn't do anything 5. because it is required to attend all social events. if not you get killed or something. or if they don't know your there you dont have to go, but then they couldn't put you in the reaping ball.)

(Edit: i will be out of town from friday to tuesday, so i will pick 2 GMs and they will be in charge until i get back.)

(4. then you can use anything useless.

5. well if you don't attend the reapings you get in trouble if people know you are in the district.)

I go to bed early so that I wake up early. If I'm going to escape I'm going to have to do it on his train. Hopefully when I wake up early I can look around the train for an exit plan. We only have a couple/few days left before we reach the Capitol. I can't take it any more.

(I'm purposely going to make this escape plan fail because of teh rules)

I can't think of anything else to do so I sleep early. As usual, I'll wake up automatically at 4:00 AM, but today I'll stay awake instead of sleeping again like I usually do. I figure I might as well take a look around without people in my way. Find hiding places. Areas where nobody goes. Maybe and area I can use for some metalworking. It's been a while since I made something complex. Recently everything I've made has been pathetically simple. A rose, a butterknife, a skewer, a set of tongs to be used in the forge, and a few other things. Nothing to test my skills. As I fall asleep I try to shape my thoughts so I can make use of the daily madness humans call dreaming.

I'm stuck in a forest, with plenty of potential hiding places. Any one of the other tributes could be hiding in them. I randomly pick a bush to hide in and listen. Listen for any sounds that could give someone away.... nothing. I move into another area keeping an eye for any traps the might've been set. Scanning the trees for any ambushes, I trip and fall into a disguised hole. I land in my bed. My body spasms as I'm jolted into the world of consciousness. I hate it when that happens. I'll be falling in my dream and my body reacts in reality. I commit the dream to memory while it's still fresh. I note what I did wrong in the dream, check the time, and return to sleep. I know I'll wake up at 4 again.

I'm awaken by a knock on the door. I open the door to see a guard.

"You" says the guard
"What do you want?" I say in the go-away-I'm-too-tired-to-care voice.
"Come with me" then he takes off
This is weird I think to myself but I follow him anyways
He brings me to a bathroom. Now I'm scared
"I had to bring you here because this is the only place on the train without any cameras. I saw what you did earlier today. I need to tell you something."
"wait... What? Are you trying to help me?"
"Yes in a matter of fact I am. I know you want to escape. And I know how. You see these windows in his bathroom?"
"Uh... Yeah."
"well there is a little button behind the toilet disguised as a piece of gum. Press it and the window opens and deactivates the force field behind it. I wouldn't try to escape now because at night bad things can happen in these parts we are in now. I suggest you go tomorrow afternoon when we are going through the forest. That will give you a chance of survival."
"Okay thanks.. But why are you helping me?"
"I know you. Don't ask from where but I really owe you. You saved my life but you don't know how. That's really all I can tell you."
Then before I can ask anything else he leaves. I head back to my room while I go through what just happened.

The train passes the train station. I pretend to be a hitch-hiker to make them ignore me, but they pick me up anyway. The Game Boy had mysteriously disappeared, as had the radio, so forget about that. I go in a room to watch the reapings, but they were showing the District 12 reapings, so it was pretty much over anyway. I walk over to a nearby bathroom, but the door is locked, so I wait. I heard some voices as I waited, but at first ignored them. However, after closer inspection, I could make out: "...little button behind the toilet disguised as a piece of gum. Press it and the window opens and deactivates the forcefield behind it..." I was overjoyed when I heard this news, many thoughts rushed through my head, and I formed an escape plan with those: Tomorrow afternoon, put on a new set of clothes and a messier, different haircut, escape from the bathroom, and put on a District 2 accent until I hit puberty. In my sleep, I try to remember the escape plan.

I wake up around 10:00 AM. I eat breakfast and walk around the train after that. The afternoon comes. Time for escape. I stuff some food and water my pockets and head for the bathroom. When I get there I bump into another tribute. I think this one's name is Ice.

"What are you doing here?" I ask Ice

After some more dreams, I wake up at 4:14. After reviewing all that happened during the night and writing down strategic notes in the notepad, I get up. I feel great. Maybe slightly groggy but otherwise fine. I walk to the rear of the train and find a mostly-unused cargo area. Judging from all the dust this place isn't paid too much attention. I take a closer look around and find a vent. Looks like I get to use another of my quirks here on the train. I can fit into really small spaces. I'm not short or really thin, I just seem to be able to do it really easily. I crawl inside until I reach a turn in the duck work. Too tight a fit to move down the turn, so I wiggle back out. I continue looking around the cargo area but don't find anything or anyplace of interest. I exit the area and continue looking for more. I find a small, weak computer kiosk embedded into a wall. After some time looking through the info files I learn a lot about the train itself. Apparently there's a force field surrounding the train. If I could find a way to disable that I could escape.... that'd be worth thinking about later, so I write it down. It's starting to get brighter outside, now, so if I'm going to find some place where I can be alone, I need to do it now.

(Lol ok district tokens don't do anything? And the citizens know I'm at the reaping, they just know I don't show myself. And I'm in the back. actually pretty far behind the back >.>. So I'm ok now?)

I board the train, feeling some strange presence (the force field going up) as I walk in... could this be true magic? I search around for a little bit for the darkest room, then walk in to ponder about this some more.

After looking around I found one unused closet, a storage area, and the boiler room where all the A/C and climate control and all that is. The generator's not there, though. I already looked. I go get some food now that it's normal to be awake now, and see a few other tributes there who'd gotten there before me.

(yes, better. i will add you to the list. we are arriving at the capitol tomorrow. the opening ceremonies will be when i get back wednesday.)
