You immediately look at the rectangle shaped object that is obviously a TRAP DOOR. But maybe first you should check out those boxes, there might be something important in there.

In the boxes, you find a HOME PHONE with full charge, ACTION FIGURES (3), and a DECENTLY SIZED STICK.
When you look down to the room below, you can see a PLATFORM on the floor with GEARS attached to it, and a BUTTON.

You grab your HAT and jump down to the room below, this time without hurting yourself because you were prepared for the jump.
The button press triggered the PLATFORM to climb up the wall to a DOOR.

Press button again. See what happens. If it brings the platform back down, go on platform and use hat as BOOMERANG to press button.
