And without bacteria, humans would not exist, yet humans still manage to be greater than bacteria.
If brackets came from lines, then ask yourself, for what reason would brackets also be made if they were not superior in some manner?
You speak as if Mankind had some purpose in putting brackets on this planet. That's complete and utter foolishness. They are an accident. Bracketism is just an awkward phase in life that an unfortunate few lines experience, and we should be helping them through it instead of pushing the ridiculous notion that being bent completely out of shape is somehow "normal" or "good" or possibly even "better".

You claim that the brackets are lines that are in a phase of their life, but this is patently untrue. The brackets never were lines, nor will they ever be lines; it is as ridiculous as saying that humans are just chimpanzees going through a phase. This is in fact backed up by evidence; the first type of bracket to appear in the English language was the angle bracket, which is the furthest from being a straight line. It was not until later that the square brackets evolved from them and happened to look more like straight lines.
Lines as a species have been around since the beginning of time itself. Lines have always existed, and always will exist. But brackets? Those are a man-made construct. Brackets are impressionable lines that have been warped by The Man in order to do their bidding. Lines that now truly believe that they are distorted and bent. And you are only perpetuating the illusion.

The true "line", in a geometric sense, has been around forever. It is misleading, however, to make it seem as if this and what you refer to are the same thing; what you have been referring to as the proper form of brackets is straight line segments that appear in English writing, such as |, /, \, and _, which are also the creation of humans.
You can not, by any stretch of the imagination, force an abstract line through space to be a bracket. The characters we are referring to were all created by humans.
