From what I've seen, Markdown is much more limited than BBCode. We make new BBCode tags using HTML, which gives us a lot to work with.

So, why is this an advantage? Only one tag uses a square bracket and no tags use "=".

So why is THAT an advantage? Look at this mobile keyboard. The bracket keys are on a separate page! This makes BBcode immensely difficult to type on mobile.

Also, I agree with colon. I'm also not suggesting we remove bbcode. If you guys like driving to work each morning in a tank, or diving in one of these things, you should be allowed to!

_{yeah i know i changed it after you said} But still the ease with which new bbcodes can be added also makes it pretty nice. It would probably be easier to make bbcodes also work using like @tagname& or something like that which is on the mobile keyboard than to out markdown in.
