I <3 nature. I go on at least one campout a month for one night and in the summer we do a one week campout. Not completely a week, because we still need to be at church on Sunday so it's actually just 6 days. Anyway... I love going on campouts. Once we had a wilderness survival tent, we were only allowed to bring food. We had to build our own shelter. I made a kind of tripod with one leg that was really long like /'--. Then I stacked sticks from the woods nearby on the long stick, then I stacked sticks on those sticks, and then I pulled up long grass. I laid the grass on top of my shelter for waterproofing and it's a good thing I did because it rained. Only my feet got wet, and the only reason they got wet is because when I sleep I stretched out. The other guys all teamed up to make one supershelter, and it didn't work out too good. They took a tree (about 6 inches in diameter) that had fallen in the fork of another tree, and laid branches and grass like I did, but it was too big and they didn't get it finished before it rained. They slept in the car that night. My dad (AKA Scoutmaster) Found a tree, leaned branches on the trunk, more sticks, grass, and then a tarp. The only thing that I used that wasn't found in nature was some rope, and it didn't actually need that in the end.
