These snowflakes...

...really annoy me. Is it possible to just make them start in the corners and fade in or something?

Re: These snowflakes...

You can't. Microsoft made it so you pretty much NEED The Browser That Will Not Be Named on your system. A lot of built-in stuff uses The Browser That Will Not Be Named to connect to the internet. I accidentally broke my The Browser That Will Not Be Named and now I get no updates without going to microsoft.com and doing it myself.

Could you not fix that with a session?

Re: These snowflakes...

Then could you not create some preferences cookie that could also possibly store other stuff in the future?

No, before, I was using FF, and a scroll bar would randomly appear at random times and the background would shift everywhere.

Re: These snowflakes...

^That happened to me. I don't think it was the snowflakes.

snowStorm.stop();return false

Could you not use this for the cookie setting:

function nosnow()
{
document.cookie = "snow=none; expires=01/01/01 00:00:00;";
}
function get_cookie ( cookie_name )
{
  var results = document.cookie.match ( '(^|;) ?' + cookie_name + '=([^;]*)(;|$)' );

  if ( results )
    return ( unescape ( results[2] ) );
  else
    return null;
}
var snow = get_cookie ( "snow" );
if (snow=="none") {snowStorm.stop();return false}

Then have the button for stop snowing have the onClick value:

nosnow();

? Or something like that?

Re: These snowflakes...

I think something like that should work, not sure if that exactly would work. I might just be making stuff up, because I'm not very good at javascript. I try to stick to server sided scripting usually.

Same case here. The syntax doesn't make sense; PHP syntax is like saying "Perform an action on this object", but JS synta is like saying "Parent.SecondParent.Thirdparent.Object: Perform action". I hate javascript.

Re: These snowflakes...

tizag and w3 just gave you cookies, if, while, for, switches, but they never make a graphic showing all the objects. I tried
if (document.getElementById('usertitle').innerHTML == "<span>Administrator</span>")
document.getElementById('usertitle').innerHTML = "XXXXXXXXXXXXX";

but it didn't work. Dunno why.

Re: These snowflakes...

Yeah. The big problems are just the syntax, the fact that i hate DOM, and the annoying names for functions. The names for some of their functions may be closer to what it actually does in some cases, but they are longer and harder to remember.

As for your problem, might it work if you stored the value in a variable then used that in the if statement? That might work. Also, where did you put the code? You might also want to try adding
else
alert("The condition was not fulfilled!");

Wait, I think I see the problem... yeah. 'usertitle' is a class, not an ID. So that won't work. You could try something like they have here or here.
