Can't believe nobody's made a topic yet.
So. What's your favorite gift to someone and from someone?

To: My little sister got a dresser for her dolls. I wrapped it in bubble wrap, some of that tissue paper, put it all inside a UPS flat rate shipping box, and set it by the front door. Oh, yeah, I hot glued the flaps shut.
From: My parents got me an army-issue back pack. It has a steel frame and it's ginorminous. I'm a pretty big kid, no giant, but the tallest one in my immediate family, and I was able to fit the top half of my body into it and even was able to squeeze my sister in. The one from ^

My dad got a thermos. It's got 2 layers and a vacuum in between. Heat can't enter/leave through empty space.

Technically, heat is heat ENERGY, and it can if the space is not a complete vacuum. As long as one molecule remains in that vacuum, heat may go through. I doubt they made it a COMPLETE vaccum.

That's irrelevant. The fact still remains that heat can't travel through empty space.

True. But it could be possible that the so called "vacuum" is not a true "vacuum" and can in fact, allow heat to transfer.

VEERY VEERY slowly. The lid isn't a vacuum, so it keeps hot for 7 hours and cold for 9. There was a bigger one that kept both hot and cold for 24 hours, but it didn't come with a foldable spoon in the lid.

I used to have a thermos that could fit into my backback, had a foldable spoon, and stayed hot/cold for 24 hours.
