0_0 Good luck. I had mine for like 3 years. I just got 'em off and now I have a retainer. BRUSH YOUR TEETH. When I got mine off I had... actually, still have, a cavity so big I can see it in the mirror. I blame the orthodontists. They left this piece of metal on one of the brackets even though I no longer needed it. Because of that, it covered up this bit of tooth and let this huge cavity grow there.

BRUSH YOUR TEETH AND DO IT WELL. 10 minutes is a good chunk of time to brush. And, uh... that list of stuff they say not to eat, they may be right. A couple brackets fell off the first month or so, but after that I pretty much ate as I pleased and the brackets stayed on... don't follow my example. I'm a moron.

Cool. Had them for 6 hours, hasn't hurt at all...

But I get to only have mine for like 12-18 months. So I'm lucky I guess.

I already learned how to do that when I decided to try eating grapes without biting them Turn out to be easier to just swallow them like pills

Anyways, my teeth still don't hurt, that's surprising. I can feel a ton of pressure on my teeth, but it feels good as if I'm getting high off of braces...

Don't listen to what they say. As long as you're not VERY squeamish, you can eat anything you want. Just don't eat large chunks of meat for a day after you get them on/tightened.
I eat corn all the time, it's delicious. (Even on the cob.)
If your teeth are overrotated like mine, chew with the side without the extra wire.
YOU DO NOT WANT A PALETTE EXPANDER. IT'S CREEPY.

I hated my expander. It tasted horrible when I got it taken off/put back on.

My friend has an expander. If you ever want to freak people out, walk up to them, stare and wait until they're confused, then spaz and tilt your head while opening your mouth to show them the expander. He did it to me. I was scarred for life.

My sister had a palette expander for almost an entire year. Glad I'm not going to need one... I hope...

I'm likely to get braces in the next few months, because my mouth is "crooked" or something. I don't see anything wrong when I look in the mirror though.
