I bet it was a time delay thing. He set the message up to send if he didn't tell it to cancel. If he survived the new kitchen, he would hit the cancel button and the message would never be sent, but apparently the kitchen managed to chuff him to bits, so the warning message was sent to the rest of the world.

It would appear that the ad is from England, where "chuffed" means happy or delighted.
