I need some flexible downtime.

I need some downtime some time in a few days, and it can be at pretty much any time of day except early in the morning (2:00AM-6:00AM -6CST). Any preferences?

It's needed because with all my mucking around has made working on the forums a bit of a challenge, so I'm going to burn everything to the ground and start anew, keeping all the forum data. At most, I don't think it should take more than an hour or two.

Early in the mornings. Unfortunately, that isn't an option. I guess during the school day would be best then.

Re: I need some flexible downtime.

Try doing it as early as possible. I don't really wake up until around 10 AM, and usually start doing my computer biz around 11/12 AM.

Re: I need some flexible downtime.

Events have happened that require that this be done sooner. (I kept screwing around with it instead of leaving it well enough alone) I need to get it done today or tomorrow, so I'm going to aim for a low-traffic time and rush to get it done. I'll start preparing everything so that it can be done very quickly.

Re: I need some flexible downtime.

Meh, forget it. I keep forgetting to do it/falling asleep at low activity times instead of getting this done. Next time there are no online users, I'm going for it.

Re: I need some flexible downtime.

Okay, so I went for it today and spent several hours fighting with it to do things that have never troubled me before. I reinstalled php and apache several times and burned the whole thing to the ground and reinstalled linux even more times.

Anyway, it works now, but it was so easy the last time I tried that I'm left with the horrible feeling that I've forgotten several things. If anything is broken, let me know.

Oh, so that's what happened. I thought I went crazy and the world was ending. I guess I was wrong.

Re: I need some flexible downtime.

It almost was. The reason I chose one of the most active times to do it was because I was forced to. Things finally fell apart and the server started refusing any and all connections. No idea why, but reinstalling Linux 3 times worked.

Three times?

Something here seems strange.

Just curious, are you getting tired of my Running Gag of posting TVTropes articles?

I used to really be addicted to TV Tropes links.
