Re: Aliens

I don't think there is any intelligent life out there. But I do believe in plants or bacteria somewhere out there.

Ok, sure... But eventually those plants and bacteria will evolve into intelligent life, right?

Re: Aliens

As far as our own solar system goes, I think we'll find basic life in various "ice" moons like Europa. If Mars had life, then considering that over 50% of Earth's life lives inside it, we might find life there if we drill into the crust. Also, I wouldn't completely dismiss the possibility of hydrogen based life on Saturn and maybe even Jupiter, although this doesn't appear too likely. And as for Titan, if life is capable of using hydro-carbons like we use water, then it's totally possible that there could be basic life there.

As for the rest of the galaxy and space: I think it's littered with a lot of basic life and sprinkled with intelligent life. All in all, I'd estimate that for a galaxy like ours, that there would be around ~250 pre-type 1 civilizations like ours, 75~100 type 1 civilizations 20~50 type 2 civilizations and 0~1 type 3 civilizations.

If M Theory is correct, then there are an infinite number of universes and therefore, the Multi-Verse is littered with life... and if you think about it, this would mean that there are an infinite number of "harry potter", "south park" and etc worlds. sprite11 Along with an infinite amount of our world. Heck, there could be a universe where Venus didn't turn into a virtual hell and where Mars's core didn't freeze killing it's magnetic field.

Why do we strive to create, to live and to love when in the end, it will all mean nothing?
