I'm kind of happy the food pyramid went away. The very top of the pyramid confused me so much that I decided to drink crude oil because I thought it would be good for me, and then I ended up in the hospital.

The 2005 update to the food pyramid (MyPyramid) already made it a lot worse than the original one

I'll name all the things wrong with MyPlate.
1. The dairy. Seriously, government, milk isn't the only way to get the calcium. What about the cheese? The yogurt? Fish? Broccoli? And the government seems to be assuming that you should only drink milk. I mean, if you're only going to put dairy as liquids, you should put water too. But no, everyone should drink milk. No water, just milk. I'm not even going to talk about lactose intolerant.
2. The design. Notice that the groups are separated. What if I want a sandwich? Will I have to be one of those nit-picky guys that takes his sandwich apart one slice at a time to eat it? Guess I'll have to separate my pizza too. Hell, I'll separate my food to the molecular component to make the protein section.
3. The grains. Nothing about whole grains, just grains. Guess I'll eat some potato chips.
4. The change in general. To quote Michelle, "Parents don't have the time to measure out exactly three ounces of chicken or to look up how much rice or broccoli is in a serving." Who said you had to follow the pyramid EXACTLY? "HOLY DIETARY FIBERS, MY SON IS EATING THREE POINT ONE OUNCES OF CHICKEN! NO REDEMPTION! ALL HOPE IS LOST!" Said no one ever.
Anyway, that's all I can think of for now.
