Four full version numbers went by in the first 7 years. At that rate, Firefox 10 would have been reached in 2019.

The version numbers changing to go up very quickly is what made it so that Firefox 10 came so early. You said that Firefox 10 is when it became bad.

Therefore, the version numbers changing to go up very quickly made Firefox become bad in 2012 rather than 2019; as a result, this was the worst trend Chrome created.
