I mean, you didn't really have to do anything too fancy. It's just a piece of string and some office tape. You could probably even reach it with your own hands.
You throw your hat at it anyways, and the KEY falls to the ground with the STRING. The TAPE stays on the ceiling, half peeled off.

The door was unlocked actually, no need for some stupid key. You take the key into the adjacent room anyways, and you also pick your hat up from the ground while you're at it.
The new room is pretty empty, there is just a FLASHLIGHT on the ground. There's also a HOLE in the ceiling.

Pick up the flashlight, and look up the hole. Use the flashlight if the inside of the hole is dark.
