this topic is hereby dedicated to inform the unaware of the many dangers of shamestains as well as instructing them on general shamestain identification.

Shamestains are very dangerous. No matter how any times you use brain bleach, you can never remove a shamestain.
In order to assist in avoiding shamestains, you should avoid the places where they typically inhabit. Shamestains are most well known to inhabit old posts and topics.

One cannot avoid shamestains that inhabit memories, though. Do you have any advice for dealing with these shamestains?

A shamestain that has infected a memory is permanent. The only thing you can do is avoid the memory as best you can, but the shamestain will periodically force the infected memory to the surface of your mind in order to feed.

It should be noted that I do realize how difficult it is to stay away from shamestains in this day and age of electronic archives. For this reason, I've decided to post information here regarding dealing with your shamestains after they've become attached to you and etched into your soul for all eternity.

SSA (ShameStains Anonymous) tip #1: Some people like to eat their shamestains away. It doesn't work, but it does help with the pain somewhat.

When I try to eat my shamestains away, I prefer to use many of the ideas contained in this thread. Shamestains go reasonably well with most comfort foods. There are also numerous reports that it also works with entire minitubs of ice cream, but only when the ice cream is eaten alone. A personal favorite for me when I try to eat my pain away is to have a banana split w/ peanut butter with your shamestain substituted for the chocolate sauce.

Yes, but it's only been confirmed in theory. Nobody has ever successfully removed a shamestain. The shamestainologists theorize that such a removal would require excessive meditation as well as a diet of highly specialized burritos for over a year. Many have tried, and many have died. Thus, it has become well known to those involved with shamestains that they are practically, if not technically, irremovable.

Some shamestains come from when somebody puts something bad in the fruit punch, and then you end up drinking it and getting all drowsy and doing stuff you regret later.

What was it with you and fruit punch? It was like cill, you wanted it to be a thing so badly but you forced it and when you force things they never become actual things.
