Anyone capable of understanding how transformation matrices work

transformation matrices are things used to describe how things are transformed in 3d space. They're pretty simple to use, but they're witchcraft. It works, but I have no idea why it works, and anyone who understands how it works belongs in the hall of fame.

Edit: especially rotation ones. Those are the highest form of witchcraft I've ever encountered.

Edit: I keep on reading these articles and the witchcraft is just piling up. View matrices are also witchcraft, but not as witchy or crafty as rotation matrices.

Edit: I think this post is the first time I've ever used the word "matrices"

I have a pretty decent understanding of them, though I took linear algebra like a year and a half ago so it might be a bit rusty.

Also, they don't only need to be 3d.
