The iPad

okay so it's actually pretty decent for typing assignments on for a touchscreen, but these buttons tho:

http://g10i.imgup.net/image17e3.jpg

And back spacing deletes multiple words at a time if you hold it for a short while. Why would it even do that? Is there some advantage to having less control over where you stop backspacing?

That's about it. The horrifyingly ugly web buttons were my main thing. Not sure why they chose to do that to the buttons. It's so out of place with the flat style Apple has taken on with every single other aspect of everything. Checkboxes are similar, but not nearly as bad as the buttons.

Was preparing to flood the forums. Ran out of time and ended up doing it from my trusty android device.

Its for class. Instead of buying cheap android tablets, decent dell workstations, and laptops from some time this decade, our broke-[expletive] school decided to buy throw money away by buying iPads, $10K computers powerful enough to run the most complex simulations (but only need to run a python interpreter and a text editor), and macbook airs.

EDIT: I have been informed that my school was likely using grant money when purchasing these items. Still would have preferred something other than macbook airs but you can't really blame them for going after the most expensive thing they could buy since it wasn't their money.

No there was a thought process to it.

Not sure what it was anymore, but I'm confident that it existed at some point.

Re: The iPad

nononononononono you guys read it wrong

catholic schools teach about jesus giving life to the world

however, in atheist schools they teach about the big bang theory

if an atheist took a test on catholicism and a catholic took a test on atheism they wouldn't comprehend the cosmic value of the metatronic plates spaghetti

Why wouldn't they have blocked the app store? Why would they allow random students to install any app they want onto their iPads? Each iPad is used by multiple students over different class periods. It's already a security mess for the students. Half the time I come on here, somebody is still logged into their Google account and a thousand other things. I usually end up clearing all browser data at the beginning of class to make sure I actually turn my work into my account and clearing at the end to make sure nobody messes with mine. Google likes to keep you logged in even when you log out sometimes.

Our school allows everything until something and then they block it. They blocked my android phone and I have no idea why. AFAIK, I'm the only person who's ever been blocked from the wifi. My laptop and oldphone are fine, tho. Not sure why. They also watch the websites we go to and block new ones, which is unfortunate.
