Hi! I've been hearing all about this forum so I decided to come here and see what it even is. Some of you probably know me from Everybody Edits, which is where I heard about fail.

oh yeah diff i tried that afk thing but irc kicks me out every 30 minutes or so and it's really annoying

how do i set a nick name and stuff

and how do i avoid typing in #fail every time, i want things to be automatic

Step one dowload an IRC client

Step two enjoy automatic everything. Just open your client and it can autoconnect (and autoreconnect if you happen to get disconnected) with a pre-chosen nickname to a pre-chosen network and autojoin a set of pre-chosen channels.

Google "HexChat"

Download it

Install it

Open it

There's a bunch of text boxes and a list. Enter your preferred nickname, your backup nickname in case that one's taken, and your backup backup nickname in case both your nick and backup nick are taken. Enter anything you want into username, it doesn't really matter.

Now for the list. Find Rizon, hit Edit.

Click Autojoin Channels tab

Hit add, and replace "#channel" with "#fail"

Check the "Connect to this network automatically" box below.

Hit close.

Check the "skip network list on startup" box.

Hit connect.

You are now IRC like pro.

Every time after that, just open HexChat and it'll autoconnect to everything.

even with your instructions i accidentally auto-connected myself to #channel

how do i delete #channel from my autojoin list

step one open network list (Ctrl+S) step two find rizon step three hit edit step four hit autjoin channel step five click #channel step six click remove step seven exit out of all the things step eight you're welcome
