Actually, Mr. Hat left his PHONE upstairs, so the ringing is too faint to wake him up. Although, it sounds like another one of his phones is in the BOX on the top shelf. Still, the BOX muffles the ringing making the noise still too faint to wake him up. You're just going to have to wait this out.
